(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Kevin Ford, who has spent the last 27 years working at Burger King, never missing a day of work, has now received close to half a million dollars through a GoFundMe campaign. The fundraiser was created following a viral video that commemorated Ford’s work for the past 27 years. However, many online did not believe that the company had done enough to celebrate Ford’s dedication.

Ford is employed at the Burger King at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, where he works as a cook and cashier. Last year, a video of him commemorating his 27 years of work where he never called in sick or missed time went viral. In that video, Ford is given a bag of gifts from his employees, which included candy, keychains, pens, a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, and a variety of other miscellaneous items.

Many pointed out in the comment section of the video that the gift selection appeared quite cheap and that Ford deserved a better reward. This prompted his daughter, Seryna, to create a GoFundMe campaign that would help her raise money for her father’s retirement.

As she shared, her father had first started working at Burger King after becoming a single father and taking custody of his two daughters. He remarried, had more children, and put them all through high school and college.

She proceeded to say that while her father looked young, he was nearing retirement age, and she asked anyone who wanted to contribute to his retirement fund to donate to the page.
