(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former President Barack Obama in a recent episode of “SmartLess” co-hosted by Jason Bateman, argued that former President Donald Trump was not seen as a “serious guy” in New York, which is where he had spent the majority of his time prior to the start of his political career.
During his appearance on the podcast, Bateman had asked Obama whether he was surprised to have seen the passion for protecting democracy diluted in the last few years. Obama had argued in response that this is a trend that had first started during former President Clinton’s time in office, and had accelerated since.
He continued by noting that he has been surprised that the Republican Party has not placed any guardrails but that he was unsurprised by Trump. Obama added that Trump came from New York and that there wasn’t anybody in New York who would do business with him or loan him money.
The newest episode of the “SmartLess” podcast was recorded on March 28 and it features Obama as well as President Biden and former President Clinton.
Obama stated during the episode that he believed there would be more Republicans who would argue that Trump’s behavior had gone too far. He added that he was very surprised that Biden had been elected but that he had not been surprised by Trump’s behavior. He continued by arguing that for the next few weeks, Trump would be spending the majority of his time in a Manhattan courtroom as he is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records for a hush money payment.
