(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – The rivalry between Florida Governor DeSantis (Republican) and California Governor Newsom (Democrat) has intensified after the California governor attacked DeSantis on Monday for the planes carrying a dozen migrants that had arrived from the Texas border to Sacramento, California.
In a tweet addressed to DeSantis, Newsom called him a “small, pathetic man” and proceeded to suggest that the Florida authorities might face kidnapping charges in connection to the flights following an investigation. This is not the first time that the two men have fought in recent years. The two men are both considered rising stars within their own parties. DeSantis has often used Newsom and his state while promoting his conservative political brand.
Dan Eberhart, a Republican donor who is supporting DeSantis’s presidential bid, argued that “Newsom is catnip for conservatives’ ‘ and that, for all intents and purposes, he was the complete opposite of DeSantis. He proceeded to argue that the agenda that Newsom has followed has resulted in California becoming a “woke paradise” and that no one wants to live there.
The flight carrying asylum seekers arrived in Sacramento on Friday, with an additional flight arriving on Monday. Both flights used the same chartered plane.
While DeSantis himself has not made any announcements about the flights, which are similar to the flights that he previously arranged for two groups of migrants to be transported to Martha’s Vineyard, he has previously talked positively about his plan for transporting migrants. In fact, during a campaign event in Iowa, he boasted about transporting dozens of “illegal aliens” to the island.
The Florida Division of Emergency Management confirmed on Tuesday that the state of Florida had been responsible for the flights. As they proceeded to explain, they had both the verbal and written consent of all the migrants on the flight.
