(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Representative Lauren Boebert slammed Secretary of State Antony Blinken and stated that he was a “coward” following his two-day trip to China, where he met with many of China’s top officials. His trip has received a lot of criticism, as many have argued that it included many setbacks and failed to get China to resume communication between the Chinese military and the United States forces.
In her post on Twitter, Boebert did not only criticize Blinken, but she also praised Representative Nancy Pelosi for her stance on Taiwanese independence.
Blinken’s visit marks the first time in five years that a secretary of state has traveled to the country. His visit to China comes at a time when tensions between the two countries have hit an all-time high. Blinken had previously been scheduled to visit China in February; however, that visit was canceled after a Chinese spy balloon was spotted hovering over the U.S. for approximately a week.
The trip was also marred by criticism on social media, with many people pointing out China’s stance on Taiwan as well as the alleged human rights abuses that the country is involved in.
On Monday, Blinken stated during the press conference that the U.S. supported the “One China” policy and not Taiwanese independence. Boebert took aim against these remarks, stating that it was unsurprising that these “cowards” completely supported Communist China. Boebert has frequently expressed support for Taiwan and has even pushed for President Joe Biden to completely abandon the One China policy.
