(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former President Donald Trump’s attorneys have requested for the New York judge responsible for overseeing the hush money case against him to block a limited gag order that state prosecutors had been pushing for. This request had been made only days before the historic trial was set to start.

On Monday, Trump’s attorneys Todd Blanche and Susan Necheles submitted a court filing in which they argued that the status quo of the former President as a leading 2024 presidential candidate, all but guarantees that he is going to be the GOP’s nominee in the upcoming presidential race. They argued that the state should bar the limited gag order which would restrict Trump’s speech during the trial.

In the filing, the lawyers wrote that it would be both “unconstitutional” and “unlawful to have former President Donald Trump’s First Amendment speech restricted. They further point out that this restriction comes at a time when President Joe Biden is preparing for his State of the Union address in which he is going to push his political advocacy as well as potentially attack the former President for the politically motivated cases against him.

Judge Juan Merchan is going to be looking into whether or not the gag order should be approved. Trump would be precluded from making any comments about court staff, prosecutors and family members. This does not include Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) who is not included in the list of people that Trump cannot refer to. It is further noted that this is going to include statements that are made with the intention of materially interfering in the case.
