(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has defended the recent remarks of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) over his recent criticism of Israel and argued that his remarks were courageous.

Schumer, who is Jewish and a vocal supporter of Israel, on Thursday during an address argued that it was time for a new election in Israel as Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had “lost his way.” He added that the prime minister has shown too much support for the civilian toll of the war in Gaza which is causing support for Israel to drop to a historic low across the world.

On Sunday Netanyahu slammed Schumer for his speech arguing that it was “totally inappropriate.” However, Pelosi during an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” had argued that the response by the Prime Minister had indicated how important the speech had been. As she told Dana Bash, Schumer’s speech had been an “act of courage” and love towards Israel.

Pelosi argued that his statement should be heard as the current war in Gaza is putting at stake the reputation of Israel.

Netanyahu however did not take kindly to the remarks by Schumer arguing that he had been meddling in the democracy of the country. He had argued that the only government that needed to be worked on was the “terrorist tyranny” that exists in Gaza.

Pelosi in her remarks pushed for additional humanitarian aid into Gaza to be allowed. These remarks echo previous calls from Democrats and members of the Biden administration.
