( – On Friday, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) argued that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is one of the best surrogates for the Democrats on the campaign trail as she is opposing former President Donald Trump in the GOP primary.

Newsom claimed during an interview on CNN with host Jake Tapper, that Haley was one of the best surrogates for the party and that he was hoping she would do well in the South Carolina primary which was scheduled for the next day. This answer came in response to Tapper asking if he believed that Trump or Haley had a better chance of winning in November against President Biden.

Newsom who is a vocal supporter of the former President has argued that he agrees with the majority of attacks that Haley has been using against the former President. He added that she was on the mark with around 99 percent of her comments and that he was enjoying the primary. He then claimed that he was hoping that Haley would continue in the Republican primary and that he wished her luck.

The governor argued that he knew Trump would be the party’s nominee, and that this was something everyone knew.

Former President Donald Trump continues to be leading against former United Nations ambassador Niki Haley in the primary race across the country. According to The Hill/ Decision Desk HQ Trump had been leading against Haley with 63.8 percent to 33.1 percent. Still, these numbers have not stopped Haley from continuing in the presidential race as she has vowed to continue running until Super Tuesday and possibly beyond that day.

On Thursday evening in an interview with Tapper Haley had claimed that if Trump becomes the party’s nominee in November and the rematch proceeds as normal then Trump was going to once again lose to President Joe Biden in 2024.
