(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Monday, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) slammed former President Donald Trump for his recent push for her to be prosecuted in connection to her allegedly destroying and withholding evidence during the House Jan. 6 committee probe.
On Sunday, Cheney had taken to X, formerly known as Twitter to claim that stating lies using all caps did not mean that whatever one wrote was true. She added that both Trump and his lawyers have had access to the evidence for a long time. Along with her statement, Cheney had also reposted a screenshot of the post that Trump had shared on his social media platform Truth Social earlier that day in which he argued that Cheney needed to be prosecuted for everything that she had done to the country. Je added that she had illegally destroyed the evidence.
Trump’s comments were also included in an article that The Federalist had published written by former Trump administration aide Kash Patel. In the article, Patel claimed that the committee and Cheney had “suppressed evidence” regarding Trump providing authorization for National Guard troops in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection.
On Sunday Cheney made a second post in which he argued that Trump’s claims were “lies.” She added that all of the transcripts and evidence had been made available for months and that Trump was only trying to delay the trial because he was afraid that the truth would come out.
Cheney lost her reelection in the primary to a candidate that was backed by the former President.
