(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Otay Mesa, California, have seized close to 200 pounds of liquid methamphetamine in a tractor-trailer driven by a man, 25, who had been seeking entry on Aug. 7. The officer who had seen the young man had flagged the vehicle, calling for it to be inspected more thoroughly.

While they were inspecting the fuel tank of the tractor, the officers noted that the liquid inside the tank was starting to crystallize, which was when they decided to test the substance. After testing, the substance was found to be liquid methamphetamine that was concealed within the tractor’s fuel tank.

The statement further noted that after the officers took the fuel tank out of the tractor and placed the narcotics in five-gallon buckets, they found that there was a total of 195.33 pounds of the drug being transported. The total value of this shipment was estimated to be $221,500.

The narcotics and vehicle were confiscated by the officers, while the driver was taken to the Department of Homeland Security.

The Otay Mesa port of entry port director, Rosa Hernandez, noted that the unusual method of concealing the drugs showed how far drug traffickers were willing to go in order to bring their products into the U.S. He proceeded to praise the CBP officers for their work and for how seriously they perform their job, even in extreme weather.

In late August, it was reported that border agents had seized over $6 million worth of narcotics within 72 hours.
