(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Thursday the White House dismissed all of the calls by the Republican Party, including Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), to have President Biden bring in the National Guard in order to put a stop to the mass pro-Palestinian protests in U.S. campuses across the country.
A day earlier Johnson had visited Columbia University, which was the starting point for the wave of Pro-Palestine protests that have now spread across the country’s campuses. Following his visit the House Speaker argued that Biden needed to send in the National Guard in order to deal with the demonstrations.
On Thursday Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House spokesperson pointed out that this is not an issue that is for the President to decide and that this was something that was up to the governors. In the past, Biden has been critical of the protests and has even gone as far as to refer to them as antisemitic.
On Wednesday, Johnson also spoke up against the protests, stating they are dangerous. He added that they needed to contain these protests quickly and argued that if the protests did not stop then it could be appropriate for them to send the National Guard to put an end to them.
Both university faculty and students have been pushing for the Biden administration to express support for a permanent cease-fire in the Israel-Hammas war and have been pushing for the U.S. to stop providing military aid to Israel. The protests have led to hundreds of arrests nationwide, with many universities getting the local and state police to assist them in dispersing the demonstrations.
