Greene’s resolution aims to expunge Trump’s first impeachment, which was based on allegations that he attempted to pressure Ukraine into announcing an investigation into the Biden family. She points to a recently disclosed FD-1023 form, which contains confidential information from a human source accusing Joe and Hunter Biden of involvement in a bribery scheme. The alleged scheme involved a Ukrainian businessperson paying $5 million each to Hunter Biden and Joe Biden in exchange for the dismissal of a prosecutor investigating the businessperson’s company.
Greene argues that the first impeachment was a politically motivated sham. She accuses Democrats, specifically Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff, of weaponizing a phone call with Ukraine to interfere with the 2020 election. Greene asserts that the FBI possessed credible evidence of the corrupt activities of Joe and Hunter Biden, including their involvement in a foreign bribery pay-to-play scheme and receiving over $5 million each. According to Greene, this information was disclosed to Congress through the FD-1023 form by the FBI’s most credible informant. She believes that President Trump’s impeachment was nothing more than a witch hunt that should be expunged to restore his reputation.
Stefanik’s resolution seeks to expunge the second impeachment, which was related to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.
Stefanik argues that Democrats exploited the power of impeachment to advance their extreme political agenda. She accuses Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff of disregarding the Constitution and failing to adhere to the legislative process during the impeachment proceedings. Stefanik maintains that President Trump was rightfully acquitted, and it is time to expunge what she perceives as a smear against his name and the millions of patriots across the country.
