(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Ronna McDaniel, the former chairwoman of the Republican National Committee has been hired by NBC News as an analyst causing an uproar among media progressives this past weekend. Many MSNBC figures, both current and former, heavily criticized McDaniel’s appearance on the liberal channel.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Rashida Jones, the network president, had previously reassured staffers on MSNBC about McDaniel not appearing on the network. Two network insiders had also confirmed to Fox News Digital that from the information they had heard McDaniel, who has been hired by NBC, would not be coming to the channel. There was a lot of backlash that followed her hiring.
On Sunday she is set to appear on NBC’s “Meet The Press” for the first time since she resigned from her position as the RNC chair. MSNBC is the left-leaning cable affiliate of NBC.
NBC News political coverage is overseen by Carrie Budoff Brown who on Friday wrote a memo highlighting McDaniel’s hiring. The post immediately caused eyebrows to be raised. Many on the right had also slammed McDaniel arguing that she was a sellout, but most of the anger had actually come from the left.
Brown had written that there could not be a more important time for them to have Ronna’s voice in the team, and in the memo argued that she was going to be contributing on all NBC News platforms. As she pointed out this was in preparation for the longest general election season in recent memory.
On March 26, 2024, NBC changed its decision to hire Ronna McDaniel in response to widespread on-air backlash.
