(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Monday, GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis argued during a virtual press conference that former President Donald Trump was a different candidate now than he had been during his first election run and predicted that Iowans would likely select a different candidate.

As he pointed out, Trump has been holding events in the state, and when one compares snippets of those event speeches to his appearances in 2016, then it becomes clear how different he has become. He added that Trump has “lost the zip on his fastball.”

The Florida governor pointed out several of the “head-scratching” comments made by Trump, including his recent suggestion that the recent school shooting was “horrible” and yet “so surprising to see it here.” He then proceeded to just call for people to move on from the situation and just “get over it.”

He also pointed out Trump’s recent remarks where he claimed that he could have negotiated the Civil War to avoid bloodshed. DeSantis however countered these claims arguing that Trump had been incapable of even negotiating border wall funding while the Congress was held by Republicans.

The Florida governor proceeded to argue that it was likely that the rhetoric employed by Trump would lead people in Iowa to choose a different candidate during the caucuses next week. He added that he believes an increasing number of people were seeing the difference between this Trump and the Trump they had known, and they were open to the possibility of going a different direction.
