(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Senate Democrats have included in the annual authorization bill language that would make it a requirement for women to register for the draft. The GOP has criticized this move which is likely going to cause complications as they try to move the bill to the Senate floor before the November election.
Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) has been leading the conservatives to push for the removal of the provision that would have women registering for the graft. This provision could also be a problem for those Democrats in tough reelection races and in swing states including Sens. Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) and Jon Tester (D-Mont.).
Sam Brown, the GOP candidate in Nevada who is trying to win Rosen’s seat, has already presented the provision as an issue in the Senate race in Nevada. As an army veteran who was severely burned he attacked Rosen for voting in favor of having women in the draft. He called for him to look at his face which had been damaged by the improvised explosive device to understand that this was what war costs.
He then pointed out that both he and his wife, Amy, had volunteered to serve, and that forcing America’s daughter to register for the draft was “unacceptable.”
Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) also slammed this provision arguing that it was “insane” to force women to serve. He further slammed the Biden administration who he argued was trying to push a woke agenda. He added that women should not be in the draft and that they should not be made to serve unless they chose to.
