(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie claimed that former President Donald Trump would take part in the GOP presidential primary debates, as his ego would not let him not attend.
In an interview with the New York Times’s Maureen Dowd, Christie was asked about whether or not Trump was going to be a part of the GOP primary debates, as the former President has frequently stated that he would not. In response, Christie argued that he believes Trump would attend the debates because his ego would not permit him to skip them.
He further added that Trump was currently on Truth Social and that no one was paying attention to everything he was saying, which does not sit well with him. He then reiterated that he was certain he could beat Trump in the debate, especially as he had been the one to help him prepare before the debates in 2016 and 2020. He then called for Trump to commit to joining the debate and added that he would shame Trump until he did.
Christie had previously run for the White House in 2016, but he dropped out after coming in sixth in New Hampshire. Despite this, he argued that he would be successful in his campaign against Trump, in part because of his New Jersey roots, which better help him understand “the New York thing” and what it is about.
Trump has previously argued that he should not be obliged to join the debates as he is currently leading the presidential primary by a very large margin.
