(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – An alleged McDonald’s employee posted a video on TikTok in which he supposedly showed the amount of sugar that the chain poured into their sweet iced tea. The video posted by TikTok user “gia2bad” went viral after its posting, as it shows them pouring a four-pound bag of sugar into a single brew of McDonald’s iced tea.

Many users online were shocked to see the amount of sugar, stating that this much sugar was unhealthy. The 11-second clip showed the entire process of brewing the water, tea, and a large amount of granulated sugar. The user could also be seen using a whisk in order to blend the drink.

While the video was playing a text appeared onscreen which stated that this was for anyone who was wondering why the McDonald’s sweet tea was “so sweet.” She then disclosed that there are occasions where a full bag of granulated sugar was not enough for the tea to turn out sweet enough and that on those occasions they often used 2 bags.

The video has received more than 1.3 million views since its posting, and it has garnered thousands of comments. Many users stated that this was not true and that this was not how the sweet tea at McDonald’s was made. However, others replied to this arguing that anyone who did not believe this is how the tea was made had clearly not worked at McDonald’s ever because this was exactly how it was made. A different user who also claimed to work at McDonald’s confirmed that this was how the tea was made, but added that the bag of tea appears to have gotten larger over time.
