(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Wednesday, former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to urge the Congress GOP that this was their last chance to block the Department of Justice (DOJ) from receiving funding.

Trump specifically noted in his statement that the end of September was an important deadline and that Republicans had the chance to completely defund the weaponized government of the Biden administration. As he pointed out, the government was currently refusing to secure the border and was treating half of the U.S. as if they were “enemies of the state.” He then proceeded to claim that this was the last opportunity they would have to “defund these political prosecutions against me and other Patriots.”

Trump, who is currently leading the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, has been indicted twice by the Department of Justice’s special counsel, Jack Smith, and another two times by state courts. The two DOJ cases against Trump were filed this summer, with one relating to his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House in 2021 and a second one relating to his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results after he lost to President Biden.

House Republicans have thus far been able to unify and vote on funding the government for the next fiscal year. If they do not manage to pass either the funding bills or a continuing resolution, then the government will shut down on September 30 at the end of this fiscal year.

If the House manages to pass a partisan bill, then that bill will be unlikely to receive the necessary support in the Senate, which is under the control of the Democrats.
