(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to blast Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith over his recent indictment on four counts related to his attempts to stay in power after the 2020 presidential election.

On Tuesday at around 4:40 p.m., Trump alleged in his post that he had heard that his indictment was going to happen at 5 p.m., with the Justice Department indicting him in connection to his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

Smith’s 45-page federal indictment was shared online shortly after the announcement. This is the second time that Trump has been federally indicted, and while only four charges are included in this indictment, they are the most serious ones that Trump has faced to date. These include conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.

Smith has for months been investigating Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, which ultimately led to a group of his supporters entering the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, in an attempt to block the certification of the Presidential election. Hundreds of people have already been charged in connection with their involvement in the incident.

Trump has denied all wrongdoings and has claimed that Smith is guilty of “Prosecutorial Misconduct.” He has further stated that this was another “fake indictment” against him in an attempt to interfere with the 2024 presidential election.
