(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, once again to state that he would be appealing the gag order that the federal judge presiding in his federal election interference case reimposed. He argued that this decision was completely politically motivated and unconstitutional.
Trump posted on social media shortly after Judge Tanya Chutkan announced the reimposition of the gag order. As the former president argued, the judge was “very biased” and hated him. He added that the gag order was just aiming to have him be at a “disadvantage” against all others who are taking part in the 2024 presidential election and that it was an attempt to hinder his campaign. He added that this was a violation of his First Amendment rights. This is an argument that his legal team has often brought forward against the gag order.
Trump wrote that many legal scholars believed that this situation was “unthinkable” and that it was “unconstitutionally” taking away from his First Amendment right to free speech. Trump also pointed out that this gag order was imposed at a time when he was leading the presidential polls for the two parties and that very few people could believe that this was happening. He added that he was planning on appealing the order.
He continued on to question how it was possible for them to just tell the leading candidate that he was the only one who was not allowed to freely and openly campaign. This is why he argued that the case would not stand.
Chutkan, who is presiding over the Jan. 6 election interference case, reinstated the gag order, which she had temporarily lifted for nine days. During that time, Trump and his legal team proceeded to appeal the ruling that blocks Trump from making certain statements against prosecutors and witnesses. The gag order was originally imposed on Oct. 16.
