(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former Trump attorney Timothy Parlatore stated that he would “not at all” be surprised if there were no charges filed by Special Counsel Jack Smith at the end of his investigation into former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents.

In an interview with Chuck Todd on NBC on Sunday, Parlatore argued that when you are looking at an investigation, you have to first examine if the facts are in relation to the law and whether there is something provable to prosecute. There is, however, also a “discretion point of view,” which he described as choosing whether it makes sense to prosecute.

Parlatore’s departure from Trump’s legal team was recent and caused by “internal issues.” In his assessment of the case, he claimed that there will be additional issues that come up, which will make it harder to determine whether filing charges is a viable option.

CNN was the first to report last week that the prosecutors have in their possession an audio recording of Trump in which he speaks about having a classified document that relates to a potential attack on Iran. The recording was made after Trump left the White House, and in it, he acknowledges that there are restrictions about who he can share the document with because it is classified.

Parlatore further argued that even if Trump has done many of the things they are claiming he has done, that does not necessarily mean that prosecuting is the best option, especially because of all of the problems associated with the material.
