(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Friday, Texas Governor Greg Abbott was heavily criticized following a report that on one of the buses heading to Chicago, a migrant child had died.
Abbott has for months been busing migrants to Democratic sanctuary cities, claiming that this is a way of handling the pressure put on border states by the large influx of illegal immigrants who enter the U.S. through the southern border. He has further claimed that this practice would bring more attention to the issues surrounding undocumented migrants.
However, many of Abbot’s opponents have slammed him for this practice, stating that it is not only a political stunt but that it is also inhumane and similar to human trafficking. On Friday, a report by the Houston Chronicle noted that on one of these buses that was heading to Chicago, a 3-year-old boy had passed away. This was also confirmed by Texas officials.
While it is not yet clear what happened, the Texas Division of Emergency Management has stated that when getting on the bus, none of the passengers had any medical conditions or a fever. The division added that when the child first started exhibiting symptoms, the bus pulled over and 911 was called. Following the arrival of the ambulance, the bilingual security personnel helped the paramedics communicate with the child’s parents. The child was then taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead later.
Online users were quick to attack Abbot over the program following his death. Sawyer Hackett, a Democratic strategist, pointed out that Abbott was responsible for not just this death but also for the death of a child who had passed away because of the razor wire buoy he had installed at the border.
