(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Last weekend, former Hawaiian congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard’s aunt had been found stabbed and beaten after a fight with her protégé in Samua.
According to a report by Spectrum News 78-year-old Dr. Caroline Sinaviana-Gabbard had been found dead on May 25, inside the home of Papalii Sia Figiel, an awarded Samoan playwright.
Samoa Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo stated that during the brutal assault there had been a hammer used by 57-year-old Figiel as well as a small knife in order to stab the victim. Following the attack Figiel had fled to the home of a friend of hers before she turned herself in to the police. Last Sunday she had been booked on manslaughter charges, however following an investigation the charges were upgraded to murder.
The police commissioner noted that it is not yet clear what the motive was for the offending but from the current reports it is noted that the incident had occurred on Saturday and that the suspect had left her home in order to spend time with a friend.
Sinavaiana-Gabbard was the sister of Hawaii State Sen. Mike Gabbard, father of Tulsi Gabbard.
In his statement, Mike Gabbard noted that he was very close with his sister and that even during his teen years she had been a lot of help during his rebellious stage. He added that he was proud of her and that she had been his best friend as a teenager.
He noted that she was the reason he had majored in English and she had been the one to get him “hooked on reading.”
