(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., in a recent interview with ‘FOX & Friends’ co-host Ainsley Earhardt discussed the turning point in his relationship with Trump and the possibility that he might be selected to be Trump’s next vice President.
Scott, who is believed to be on the shortlist of possible candidates revealed that it was a discussion about the 2017 Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally and his handling of it that had helped develop his relationship with Trump. In the exclusive Thursday interview, Earhardt did point out that in the past Scott had mentioned that he had thought Trump had compromised his moral authority with his handling of the rally.
Scott responded to this by stating that it was this rally that had built their relations to what they are today. He added that Trump had invited him to the Oval Office where they had discussed race relations in the U.S. and had asked him about his perspective on race relations in the U.S. He then listened and expressed gratitude to Scott for helping him help all those that he had offended.
Earhardt pointed out that should Scott become Trump’s running mate he would be the first vice president to make it to the ticket. He added that this is exciting regardless of the outcome as it displays the evolution that has been made in the South and the idea that people should be judged based on their character rather than their skin color.
Scott also spoke about his engagement to Mindy Noce during the interview, their planned wedding is in August.
