(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A 17-year-old suspect, who has remained unnamed, was arrested by armed law enforcement in Philadelphia for plotting a national terrorist attack. According to FBI Special Agent in Charge Jacqueline Maguire, the teen had been talking with an al-Qaeda-affiliated global terrorist group and had gained access to multiple guns, and was building bombs.
The arrest took place on Friday and during Monday’s press conference Maguire stated that the teen had been looking into what possible targets he could attack. He was not looking for a singular location and the locations for the attack were not all located in Philadelphia.
As she pointed out, the most concerning aspect of the evidence is that the teen had gotten access to firearms and materials for the construction of explosive devices, including chemicals, detonating devices, and chemicals.
All of the cases were made within the last few weeks which is what led to this case being escalated in priority. Investigators who have been monitoring his activities also found that he had contacted Katibat al Tawhid wal Jihad (KTJ), a terrorist group affiliated with al-Qaeda on Instagram. According to the reports he had both received and sent media to the group on Instagram, with some of the materials shared including guidance on how to commit certain criminal acts, including building a bomb.
Because of the suspect’s name, he remained unnamed despite facing state charges for possession of an instrument of crime, criminal conspiracy, attempt to commit criminal mischief, arson, weapons of mass destruction, and several other charges.
