(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A tragic incident occurred at Gröna Lund Park in Sweden, where a roller coaster partially derailed, resulting in the unfortunate death of one person and injuries to nine others. The Jetline roller coaster, an older attraction at the park, experienced a front derailment, causing the front portion of the train to come off the track. The exact causes of the derailment are currently unknown, according to park officials.

As the roller coaster came to a halt approximately 20 to 25 feet above the ground, several witnesses reported seeing two to three individuals falling out, while one person managed to hold onto the tracks. The identity of the deceased passenger has not been disclosed publicly, and as of Monday’s report, three of the injured individuals were children. Additionally, four adults were hospitalized, with two of them in a serious but stable condition.

In response to the incident, the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority initiated an investigation into the partial derailment of the roller coaster train. Furthermore, the police have launched a criminal investigation to determine if there is any basis for involuntary manslaughter charges or other charges related to causing bodily harm.

Following this tragic event, park officials announced that Gröna Lund Park would remain closed for at least one week. Established in 1883, Gröna Lund is one of the most popular amusement parks in Sweden. The Jetline roller coaster, spanning a length of 2,600 feet, underwent its last renovation in 2000 and can reach a maximum height of 98 feet, reaching a top speed of 56 mph.
