(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Tuesday evening, U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle told CNN’s Whitney Wild during an interview that her agency had the sole “responsibility” of planning and executing the security during the Pennsylvania rally where former President Doanld Trump’s assassination attempt had taken place on Saturday.

Cheatle noted that on that particular site, there had been a division of the areas of responsibility, but that the Secret Service had the full responsibility for designing and implementing the security plan on that site.

Her comment comes at a time when the federal agency, and Cheatle herself have faced a lot of scrutiny after a gunman managed to open fire at Trump during the event. One of the shots had grazed Trump’s ear while one attendee had been killed and two others had been injured. This is considered one of the greatest security lapses by the Secret Service since 1981 when then-President Reagan was shot.

In the past few days, there had been an increase in people questioning how the 20-year-old gunman had been able to get to the nearby rooftop from where he was able to have a clear line of sight on the former President during the campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The gunman had been shot and killed by a countersniper of the Secret Service quickly after he opened fire.

Cheatle informed Wild that on that day they had not diverted any assets from Trump.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Secret Service director had stated in a different ABC News interview that the building from where the gunman had fired was the responsibility of local law enforcement.
