(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Republican Rep. Troy Nehls (Texas) slammed former Speaker Paul Ryan (R) following his recent remarks that former President Donald Trump was “unfit” to serve in the Oval Office. Ryan had also claimed that he would not be voting in support of the presumptive Republican candidate in November’s election.

Nehls, who is a strong ally of the former President, argued that Ryan needed to be expelled from the GOP and that he was a “piece of garbage.”

Ryan’s remarks on Fox News’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” revealed his decision to abstain from supporting Trump in 2024. In 2016 Ryan had voted in support of Trump and had claimed at the time that the reason for his current stance is because of the actions taken by the former President. He pointed out that it is incredibly important for them to uphold the U.S. Constitution and argued that Trump viewed himself as above it. He added that the Jan. 6 Capitol attack and the factors relating to it have played an important role in his decision.

Ryan has consistently criticized Trump and reiterated his opposition to Trump’s reelection bid. He emphasized that his choice was driven by principles, not personal allegiance. When Trump labeled him a RINO (Republican in name only) on social media, Ryan responded by stating that RINO was used by Trump only against those who were not loyal to him. His comments and Nehls’ reaction underscore the deep divisions within the Republican Party, particularly concerning loyalty to Trump.
