(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Wednesday, New Hampshire announced that it would continue to hold its position as first-in-the-nation in the presidential primary regardless of the Democratic National Committee’s (DNC) decision. The DNC and New Hampshire have been in a disagreement over the date of the presidential primary for close to a year.
New Hampshire Secretary of State Dave Scanlan announced in front of a crowd that the date of the primary election in the state will be January 23, 2024. The announcement occurred in front of many political leaders, reporters, state officials and lawmakers, dignitaries, and the state party chairs for both parties who gathered at the Hall of Flags at the Statehouse in Concord.
Scanlan’s announcement means that the state has opted to not comply with the DNC’s 2024 presidential nominating calendar when deciding the date of the primary. Democrats are going to sanction the state, which could lead to losing half of the state’s delegates to next summer’s national convention.
President Biden’s name is also not going to be added to the unsanctioned primary ballot; however, many Democrats in the state have launched a write-in campaign in an attempt to keep the sitting president from being embarrassed during his presidential run.
Republican Gov. Chris Sununu, who has blasted the Democrats for wanting to remove New Hampshire from being first in the nation, has warned that both Democrats and independents across the state have noticed that the national party wants to move them to the side. He added that this is not something that anyone takes “kindly,” especially when it comes to being told that their voice does not matter in politics.
Sununu proceeded to tell reporters that there would be many things that would happen in November 2024, and he even predicted that President Biden’s position would lead to no Democrat ever skipping the state again in fear of the repercussions on their chances of winning. He added that Biden’s decision was hurting the entire party.
