(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Allen Police Department spokesman Jonathan Maness confirmed to Fox News Digital that a new investigation had been opened into Michael Irvin, a Hall of Fame receiver.

ProFootballTalk in their report noted that the police department had not specified what “allegations” they were investigating.

The police department in Allen, Texas has noted that they are not yet prepared to release any information about the allegations against Irvin, including information about the type of allegations.

Levi McCathern, Irvin’s lawyer has “vehemently” denied the allegations but has noted that he is aware of them. In his statement, he noted that his client had not done anything inappropriate or wrong and that there was “no truth” to the allegation.

McCathern also noted that he was certain the allegations against Irvin would be moved to be “much ado about nothing.”

Last year, Irvin had been investigated after a woman, whose identity was kept private, alleged that she had an inappropriate encounter with him. Irvin in response to these allegations had told The Dallas Morning News, that he had met the woman in a public setting, and their brief interaction had been mostly non-physical, but that he remembered shaking the woman’s hand. He noted that the total conversation could not have lasted more than 45 seconds and had happened in the lobby.

As he noted at the time, the interaction had occurred after he had returned to his hotel after going out for dinner and drinks with former NFL player Michael Brooks.
