(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Jeffrey Ferguson, an Orange County Superior Court Judge who allegedly shot his wife, Sheryl Ferguson was arrested on Aug. 3. Following the shooting, Ferguson, 72, had reportedly sent a text to his bailiff and court clerk informing them that he would not be able to come into work the next day as he had shot his wife and would be in custody.
The police received reports about the shooting after 8 p.m. Allegedly the couple had gotten into an argument while in their Anaheim home. The fight had started earlier that night while the two were in a restaurant. Jeffrey Ferguson, who had been drunk during the argument, proceeded to fatally shoot his wife after she had told him something along the lines of “Why don’t you point a real gun at me?”
Their adult son was the one to call 911 and inform them that his father had been too drunk and had shot his mother. The following day Ferguson was arrested and he was released a day later on Aug. 4 on a $1 million bail. Prosecutors are now looking to set new bail conditions to ensure that Ferguson will not try to flee.
In the couple’s home, the authorities found 47 weapons which were all legally owned. However, one rifle belonging to Ferguson was missing.
Ferguson had first been appointed to his position in 2015. He is now facing charges of murder with weapons-related enhancements.
