(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) top official has noted that they have launched an investigation into Saturday’s shooting, as a man attempted to kill former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The event is being examined as a “potential” domestic terrorism act.
The FBI National Security Branch executive assistant director Robert Wells has explained that currently based on their findings it appears that the man was a lone actor, but that the investigation was set to continue. He noted that they were investigating this not only as an assassination attempt but also as a potential “domestic terrorism act.”
This means that the FBI’s criminal division is collaborating with the counterterrorism division in the investigation as they try to determine the motive of the shooter.
On Saturday Trump had survived an assassination attempt during his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, with a bullet just grazing his ear. The shooting had taken place only 10 minutes into Biden’s remarks. Following the incident the former President had been escorted offstage by Secret Service agents, while in the photos blood is visible close to his right ear and cheek.
The authorities have identified the shooter as 20-year-old Thomas Matthews Crooks who had conducted the attack from a rooftop near the platform Trump was speaking from. During the shooting, there was one death, identified as Corey Comperatore, while two others had been critically injured but are now in stable condition. The Trump campaign has noted that the former president was “fine” following the attack.
Crooks was also killed during the incident.
