(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Tuesday, former White House adviser Susan Rice told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that it was insulting to be saying that the only reason Vice President Kamala Harris is going to become the presumptive Democratic nominee is because she is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hire.
Rice argued that these types of comments coming from the GOP, including from Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) and Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-Wis.) were “offensive and dehumanizing.” Both have argued that the Democrats would feel the need to continue supporting Harris because she is a DEI hire. However, there are other Republicans who have warned against such comments.
Harris, who is of Indian and Jamaican descent, could end up becoming the United States first woman president, and first president of South Asian descent.
Rice, who had served during the three last Democratic administrations, argued that calling Harris out for her gender and race was an issue that affected many Americans and that oftentimes minorities and women in the country will be faced with such attacks. She added that this kind of messaging is claiming that these people rose to the position of leadership not because they deserved it but rather because they had an unfair advantage.
She continued by noting that such comments were insulting to many Americans who belonged to these categories. She added that this type of language is problematic and that it functioned as a symbol for what this presidential race was representing as it is focused on the future of American democracy. She pointed out that the race was either about moving forward or going backward by following former President Donald Trump, his running mate JD Vance, and their Project 2025 vision.
