(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Republicans were outraged following the release of a new video from Judge Arthur Engoron in which he is seen smiling ahead of the non-jury civil trial in former President Donald Trump’s fraud case in New York. Trump is currently the frontrunner in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race.
On Monday, Trump appeared in New York court for the first day of his trial relating to the fraud case brought forward by Attorney General Letitia James of New York and the allegations that he had committed fraud while building his real estate business. James has claimed that Trump defrauded insurers and banks by inflating the worth of his assets by billions of dollars in order to gain access to better bank loans between 2011 and 2021.
Last week, Engoron ruled in favor of one of James’ claims in the case against Trump, his two adult sons, and the Trump Organization, and is going to be deciding on six other accusations, which include conspiracy claims, insurance fraud, and falsifying business records. Trump is not facing criminal charges in this case, but he could be made to pay damages.
Trump has maintained that he is innocent and has slammed Engoron for his previous ruling, which he referred to as “un-American.”
Engoron has blocked cameras from being in the courtroom during the official proceeding, but he allowed them to enter the courtroom ahead of the start of the proceedings. In one of the videos caught during that time, the judge appears to be smiling at the camera right before the start of the camera.
This video has been heavily criticized, with the Citizen Free Press calling the case a “clown show” as the judge was smiling ahead of Trump’s case.
Former Republican congressional candidate Robby Starbuck similarly stated, “Wow.” And she added that the video from the courtroom “speaks volumes.” He further slammed James for looking like an “obsessive creep” and claimed that the judge was smiling during “his moment in the sun.”
