(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – First lady Jill Biden has been brought to the spotlight following President Joe Biden’s poor performance in the first presidential debate which has led to many calling for him to step down from the upcoming election.
Ohio University professor of U.S. women and gender history Katherine Jellison argued that this is a “make-or-break moment” for the U.S. president and that it is likely that his wife will be there on every step.
Last week, following the disastrous debate, Biden’s role in the campaign of Joe Biden for 2024 came to the spotlight as many expressed concerns for Biden and his performance. The president, 81, had appeared to stumble over his answers, struggle with formulating a response, and even stare blankly on occasion. This has led to several people and media editorial boards calling for him to drop out of the presidential race and make space for someone younger to take over.
However, Jill Biden, who has often defended her husband in his race for reelection, has continued to reiterate her support during an event that took place two days after the debate. At a New York campaign fundraiser, she argued that her husband was not just “the right person” but also the “only person for the job.”
This is a point she also made during a phone interview the next day with Vogue. In that cover story, she argued that they would continue to fight.
President Joe Biden has also argued that he will allow those 90 minutes to define his entire presidency.
