(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Montez Thorton II, 27, attacked Marc Cohen, 63, at a Florida movie theater on July 10, after Cohen had asked whether he could sit in the seat assigned to him.

The altercation was caught on video, which was later released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities stated that Cohen had informed them that he had purchased VIP tickets and advance seating in order to go watch the film with his wife. However, their movie date took an unexpected turn after they saw that Thorton and a woman had been sitting in their seats.

Cohen had politely asked Thorton to move seats, which resulted in the 27-year-old becoming hostile. As seen in the video, the man got up and into Cohen’s face. As a result, Cohen lost his balance on the theater steps while attempting to back away.

The interaction then turned physical as Thorton proceeded to repeatedly punch Cohene in the face. As seen in the video, many of the witnesses attempted to help the victim by removing the perpetrator. The sheriff’s office revealed that the victim had suffered from several head and face injuries and had been taken for treatment to a hospital.

The woman and Thorton fled the scene following the incident. Following a two-month-long investigation, authorities found Thorton in Fort Lauderdale, and he was arrested. He is now facing one count of aggravated battery with great bodily harm and has been taken to jail.
