(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A new Axios report has noted that former President Donald Trump’s friends and allies expect that he will return to Twitter prior to the 2024 general election.
Trump was originally banned from Twitter after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, but he was reinstated last November after Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, activated his account again. Trump has not tweeted anything in almost two and a half years, and yet his account still has close to 87 million followers.
Despite his large following on Twitter, Trump has continued to only post on his own social media platform, Truth Social, where he has around 5 million followers. The Axios report pointed out that Trump is the majority owner (90 percent) of Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), which owns Truth Social. If Trump chooses to return to Twitter, then the value of TMTG and Truth Social could plummet, which is potentially one of the reasons why Trump has continued to post there.
Regardless, many people close to Trump’s campaign team have stated that Trump is planning to eventually return to Twitter for the 2024 presidential race. Mike Davis, the founder of The Article III Project, a conservative legal group, argued that Trump is going to need to return to Twitter before the presidential race intensifies. He added that while from a business perspective it makes sense for Trump to exclusively use Truth Social, from a political perspective he would need to return to Twitter.
Trump has been using Truth Social not only for his political campaign but also to comment on his many recent legal troubles.
