(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Ahead of the South Carolina primary, the former state governor and Republican primary candidate Nikki Haley appeared in a town hall organized by Fox News. During the event, she answered a number of questions relating to the increase in crime rates, youth vote, and abortion.
On Sunday during the event, Haley argued that it was necessary for Republicans to win over young voters if they wanted to win in the 2024 presidential election against President Biden.
Noah Lindler, the University of South Carolina College Republicans Vice President, asked Haley during the town hall to address first-time and Gen Z voters who as he argued were being “largely ignored.” In response, Haley noted that it was a “mistake” for any political party to not be speaking to those voters.
Host John Roberts’s question on this topic also came following the resignation of five Republican National Committee’s youth advisory council members who resigned in December citing dissatisfaction with the party’s attempts to bring in young voters in the upcoming election. The members argued that the party had shown a general lack of vision.
Haley pointed out that according to a new Axios-Generation Lab poll around 58 percent of voters aged between 18 and 34 were uncertain they would be voting in the next election. She added that the reason why so many people are opting not to vote is because they don’t believe anyone is listening which is an issue. However, she claimed that she personally believed that the next generation was going to save them and that they knew what they were doing.
