(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former U.N. ambassador during the Trump administration and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley reacted to former President Donald Trump’s mugshot following his booking in a Fulton County jail stating that this was “a sad day in America.” On Thursday, Trump had turned himself in following his indictment along with 18 others by a Fulton County grand jury more than a week ago.
In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Haley stated that it was “disgraceful” that they were seeing the mug shot of a former President. She proceeded to question how they reached this point and argued that she does not believe that anyone in the U.S. should be feeling good over this.
She proceeded to claim that despite this the reality is that they needed to place their attention on key issues including the open border, the rising inflation rates that are stopping people from being able to pay for necessities, the national security threats, and the lack of transparency in schools.
Haley added that there should not be any assumptions about Trump being convicted or becoming the Republican nominee.
Following Trump’s arrest on Thursday he became the first U.S. president, either current or former, to have had his mug shot taken. Trump’s indictment in Fulton County is the fourth indictment that the former President has faced this year. Despite his legal troubles he continues to be the leader in the GOP primary case. However, many have pointed out that Haley performed very well in the presidential primary debate on Wednesday.
