(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and 2024 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump blasted former President Donald Trump on Friday, claiming that he was just a “con artist” following his recent legal troubles.
The financial disclosures from the Trump campaign’s first quarter showed that a little more than half of the money he had raised for his presidential campaign had been used to cover legal fees. Christie stated that this was “ridiculous” and added that it was unlikely that supporters of Trump were aware of this situation.
During an interview on CNN, he argued that Trump was having people donate to his campaign and using that money to pay off his expensive lawyers for indictments that are the result of his own actions, including paying off an adult film star and withholding classified documents despite being instructed to voluntarily return those documents for 18 months.
Christie argued that this was “ridiculous” and that Trump was using his supporters in a way that they were not really aware of. He added that people were donating to his campaign because they believed that the money would help him win back the White House when, for the most part, the money was being used for his expenses. As he claimed, Trump was “grifting off” his supporters and was a “con artist” who was taking their money while pretending that he wanted to win back the White House. Instead, what he actually wants is a “free ride” to cover all the costs of his lawyers following the charges he is facing.
