(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A new poll was released which found that around 1 in 5 Republicans in three key battleground states believe that former President Donald Trump is guilty of having falsified business records in New York.

A New York jury found Trump to be guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in an attempt to hide a hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. The payment was so that Daniels would remain quiet about their alleged affair, as the information was viewed as potentially damaging to Trump ahead of the election.

The Florida Atlantic University PolCom Lab/Mainstreet Research poll, which was conducted following the decision of the 12-person jury in New York found that out of the 2,068 adults they had asked in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan the majority believed that Trump was guilty of the charges, regardless of the jury’s decision.

The poll specifically found that 48 percent of respondents believed the former President to be guilty, 38 percent argued that he was not, and a final 14 percent stated that they did not know.

The Democrats argued in their majority, 79 percent, that Trump is guilty. However, there appeared to be division among the Republicans with 66 percent stating that he was not guilty and another 18 percent stating that he was. Finally, 16 percent argued that they did not know whether or not he was guilty.

Among independents, the results also varied with 50 percent claiming that Trump is guilty, while 31 percent stated that he was not. The remaining 19 percent argued that they did not know.
