(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Sunday, former President Trump, in an NBC “Meet the Press” interview with host Kristen Welker, refused to disclose whether he had watched the coverage of the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack while in the White House. He also did not provide any answers regarding the phone calls he made that day.
When asked about whether, during the attack, he was in the dining room of the White House watching the events unfold on TV, Trump stated that he was not going to tell her that and that at the appropriate time, she would answer that question. Several witnesses from the White House have alleged that Trump was in the dining room.
During the interview, he further defended his previous statement about that day being “beautiful,” which he had made while in the Oval Office, and pointed out that he had told people to return to their homes through Twitter.
However, according to reports, Trump’s statements had been made begrudgingly, as many of those closest to him had urged him to issue a formal statement.
When Welker asked about who he had called that day, Trump questioned why he should reveal that to her. He also refused to respond to questions about whether or not he had made any calls to law enforcement or military officials on the day of the Capitol attack.
Still, he once again reiterated unproven claims that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had refused to accept his offer for additional troops to be sent to protect the Capitol.
