(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.) argued that he would back Vice President Kamala Harris if she was on top of the presidential ticket and President Joe Biden was taken off it.

In an article on USA Today, which was published on Friday, Clyburn had reportedly stated that he is not stopping to be a “Biden-Harris person” and that he continues to support the Democratic ticket. However, as he argued he would be supporting Biden even if Harris is not on the ticket, and similarly he would support Harris even if Biden was not there.

Clyburn is widely believed to be responsible for Biden’s success in South Carolina in 2020. The win in the primary in the state had propelled him during the previous presidential race allowing him to become the presidential nominee. During interviews with both USA Today and The Hill, Clyburn had argued that Democrats needed to “stay the course” and “chill out” despite the recent push for Biden to step aside and for Harris to become the new presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Clyburn has admitted that during Thursday’s presidential debate, Biden had performed poorly. However, as he argued if this was a baseball game, Biden would be allowed “two more swings.”

Many Democrats have expressed concerns following the presidential debate which has resulted in a lot of calls for him to step aside and have someone else take his place in the November presidential election.

Harris has also defended Biden’s performance, arguing that while he started off slowly in the debate he had a “strong finish.”
