(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – The Los Angeles Times has officially endorsed Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) in the Senate primary race on Sunday. Schiff is going to be facing a three-way race Reps. Barbara Lee and Katie Porter and it is anticipated that it will be the most expensive primary campaign in history.

The three of them are trying to win the seat that Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.), was appointed in following the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). Butler will not be trying to win the seat in the election.

The Times in their report referred to Schiff’s rivals as smart and experienced who would perform as representatives of the state in the Senate. However, the publication’s editorial noted that Schiff stood out due to his “extraordinary leadership” which has helped protect democracy and many of the country’s institutions from former president Donald Trump.

Schiff has been one of the targets of former president Donald Trump’s supporters because of his position of leadership in the House Intelligence Committee. In 2019 he had also led the first impeachment investigation into the former President. Last year, he was censured by the Republican party and was stripped of his seat in the committee.

The board further pointed out that Schiff had done great work in the Jan. 6 House committee and that it was not surprising that the representative was usually selected in these high-profile efforts. They added that he was a team player who has shown respect towards lawmakers from across the aisle.

So far, many have endorsed Schiff’s campaign including former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
