( – In February, a senator had warned that there was a great possibility that the southern border was going to be used by terrorists to enter the country. This is a warning he continues to make as he told Fox News Digital that he was hopeful the arrest of the eight suspects who are believed to be connected to ISIS is going to be a wake-up call for President Joe Biden.

Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mon., told Fox News Digital that he had for months been cautioning that the open southern border was leaving the country vulnerable to possible terrorists. As he stated this news was unsurprising, and if this is not a wake-up call for the Democrats and President Biden then he does not know what could act like a wake-up call then he does not know what will.

These latest comments have come after a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and joint U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) joint sting which led to the capture of eight Tajikistan nationals who are believed to have a connection to the Islamic State.

All eight of the suspects are believed to have illegally entered the United States through the Southern border while the arrests occurred in Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Daines has for months expressed concerns about the possibility of such incidents, and had specifically pointed out that Central Asia is where many of these threats originate. In a press conference in February Daines had informed reporters that a “high-level individual” had previously warned him that in 2023 there had been more than 50,000 people from Central Asia who had illegally entered the country.
