(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas, a member of the Republican Party, addressed a letter to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, urging a Department of Justice inquiry into the actions of demonstrators who support Hamas and who allegedly attempted to disrupt the transit of U.S. military assistance to Israel.

The incident in question unfolded at the Port of Oakland in California, where CBS Bay Area reported that activists seeking a halt to the hostilities in Gaza obstructed a military ship’s departure for several hours. They did so by physically attaching themselves to the vessel. The group, numbering around 200, displayed Palestinian flags and called for an end to U.S. military support for Israel, under the organization of the Arab Resource Organizing Center based in San Francisco.

Senator Cotton highlighted the legal violations pertaining to trespassing on or inflicting damage upon military assets, advocating for the full enforcement of the law against such acts.

In his communication with the attorney general, Senator Cotton detailed the events, describing how protestors allegedly shut down the Port of Tacoma, interfered with a military ship, and aimed to ascend the ship using a rope ladder. He emphasized the illegality of these actions and called for the arrest and prosecution of those involved.

The letter further accused two groups, the Arab Resource and Organizing Center (AROC) and the Tacoma Democratic Socialists of America, of organizing these illegal activities, suggesting that they should also face investigation and potential charges of criminal conspiracy.

This call for legal action is juxtaposed with the stance of the protest organizers, who argue that their actions are a plea for an immediate cease-fire and an end to what they describe as the genocide of Palestinians.

These events transpired shortly after the House approved a significant aid package for Israel, which followed an intense conflict initiated on October 7th. The situation has also sparked a wave of pro-Palestinian demonstrations across various cities and academic institutions.
