(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Thursday, President Biden once again pushed for Congress to ban high-capacity magazines and assault weapons following the latest mass shooting in Maine, which resulted in a lone gunman killing at least 18 people in two separate locations.
Biden released a written statement in which he called for Republican Congress members to protect Americans from gun violence. He called for them to work on a bipartisan bill that would ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. He also pushed for the introduction of a number of gun control measures, including safe gun storage, university background checks, and gun manufacturers no longer having liability immunity. He added that this was the least they could do for Americans who were now suffering from the mental and physical scars of the recent shooting.
The shootings at Grille, Just in Time Bowling, and Schemengees Bar on Wednesday led to 13 people being wounded in the shooting, while 18 people were fatally shot. On Thursday morning, during a press conference, Maine Gov. Janet Mills revealed this information about the shooting.
In a statement, Biden argued that the nation was in mourning again following the most recent mass shooting. He added that he and the First Lady were praying for all those who lost their lives and those who were wounded, as well as for their families, friends, and other community members.
The 40-year-old suspect, Robert Card, is currently being chased in a manhunt across the state. Card had allegedly recently reported having mental health issues and is a “trained firearms instructor.”
