(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – On Monday, The Nevada Globe reported that the Biden family, including President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, are renting a $18 million Lake Tahoe mansion from Tom Steyer, the former Democratic presidential candidate. The White House has stated that the home has been rented at fair market value” for eight nights.
Steyer is currently being investigated for violations of the local housing law. The Republican-leaning Douglas County requires rentals to have a specific kind of permit; however, many complaints have been filed about Steyer not having gotten the permit required under the local law.
Ernie Strenhlow, the head of code enforcement for Douglas County, told the Globe that there were many inquiries received about that address and that, currently, they could not make any further comments as there was an ongoing investigation about this particular rental. If it is found that Steyer’s home lacks the proper certification, he could face a fine of up to $20,000 for renting it out.
According to local law, property owners who have properties that are being advertised or rented out as unpermitted vacation homes within Douglas County violate the Douglas County Code as well as the Nevada Revised Statutes. The law further states that the civil penalty for such a violation can be up to $20,000,
Thus far, both Steyer and the White House have abstained from making any comments about the allegations that came out on Monday about the vacation rental.
