(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – A group of 18 House GOP lawmakers led by GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., are calling for Jennifer Granholm, the Energy Secretary, to provide answers over her agency’s choice to have foreign adversaries inspect a U.S. nuclear testing site.

On Thursday morning, the group sent a letter in which they slammed Granholm for having recently offered Russia and China “unprecedented access” to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Nevada National Security Site. In September, Bloomberg reported that the department’s National Nuclear Security Administration had invited officials from the two foreign nations to tour the site in order to prove that the United States was upholding the moratorium on not testing nuclear weapons, which was first established three decades earlier.

Stefanik told Fox News Digital that she and her colleagues were demanding that President Biden put a stop to the invitation given to the country’s adversaries that would provide them with “unprecedented access” and information about the United States’ sensitive nuclear weapons tests, as well as provide them with information on how to defeat the country’s nuclear capabilities by improving their own.

She added that this was a time when the United States’ adversaries continued to grow their nuclear stockpiles. She pointed out how giving access to one of the country’s nuclear sites would only help them advance further in their pursuit to undermine America’s leadership.

The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) previously offered to have its Russian and Chinese counterparts check out the Nevada site.
