(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Many of the families of victims of 9/11 have blasted President Biden for not following the tradition of spending part of the anniversary of the terrorist attacks at an attack site or the White House. Biden is the first president not to follow the tradition in the 22 years since the attack.
Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Donald Arias told “Fox & Friends First” that it was not surprising to him that Biden chose not to visit any of the sites. Arias’ brother was one of the victims of the attack. In his remarks, he noted that he would prefer for Biden to remain where he was so that at least they would not need to hear one more story about how he relates to the attack, similar to the story about his kitchen fire that he shared with the people of Lahaina.
Biden, who was on an overseas trip to India and Vietnam, is going to return to the country’s capital, where he will deliver a speech during a ceremony held at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska. Vice President Kamala Harris is going to be joining other elected officials for commemorative events in New York City.
Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre noted in a statement that Biden is going to honor the victims and their families. She added that this was something the President felt was important to do, as he could not imagine the pain that the families of the victims felt even 22 years after the attack.
Terry Strada, whose husband was one of the victims, blasted Biden, stating that his actions show the opposite of what he had pledged about “never” forgetting. She added that he was being flippant by not visiting any of the attack sites or commemorating the loss.
