(RestoreAmericanGlory.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris claimed during a recent interview that if needed she was ready to step in as the U.S. President. This statement was made as concerns over the age and mental acuity of President Joe Biden have continued to grow.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., responded to Harris’ remarks by arguing that she was the vice president of the country and as such “she better be” ready to serve if needed. She added that so far the vice president had done well in her position and that a big part of her constitutional responsibility is to be ready to take over if necessary.

Last week Department of Justice Special Counsel Robert Hur released a report where he recommended that no charges should be filed against Biden for the actions he had taken despite finding that he had willfully mishandled classified documents. In part, he defended this decision by arguing that Biden would appear before the jury in the trial as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

Following the release of the report there has been increased scrutiny over the age of President Biden as well as his memory and mental abilities. However, ahead of the release of the report Harris had noted in an interview that she was “ready to serve,” she had also told The Wall Street Journal that everyone who had witnessed her work was completely aware of her capacity to lead.

Rep. Monica De La Cruz, R-Texas, argued that the comments made by Harris had led to increased worries about Biden’s ability to continue serving.
